Our Story:
A Foundation of 20 Years of Expertise
The story of Sakura Japanese Language Institute Pvt. Ltd. is not just about a school; it is about a lifelong dedication to the Japanese way of life. Our founder’s journey began in 2011, when she arrived in Japan as a student. Through years of hard work, she successfully navigated the complexities of the Japanese higher education system, earning her degree in Business. Her passion for the language led her to complete a certified Japanese Language Teaching course, gaining the formal credentials to match her years of immersion.
Today, with over 20 years of continuous experience in the field, she remains based in Japan, serving as a direct link between our students in Pokhara and their future lives in Japan. We founded Sakura because we saw a gap between the dreams of Nepali students and the reality of the support they received. We are here to bridge that gap with honesty, expertise, and a deep sense of responsibility.
The Sakura Mission: Solving the Industry's Hidden Problems
We recognized a troubling trend in the language institute industry: many students were being charged exorbitant hidden fees and sent through multiple "brokers" who had no real connection to the schools in Japan. This lack of transparency often led to students facing financial crises or finding themselves without proper housing upon arrival.
Sakura was built to be the solution. * Direct Institutional Partnerships: We maintain direct links with reputable Japanese schools. By cutting out middle-men and brokers, we ensure that your fees are handled transparently and that your enrollment is secure.
A Safety Net in Japan: Most institutes end their service at the airport in Nepal. We are likely the only institute in Pokhara where the support truly begins when you land. Because our owner lives in Japan, she is there to personally welcome you.
First-Arrival Support: We take the fear out of the first day. We provide airport pickup services, personally escorting students to their respective schools and hostels. We guide you through the "beginning phase"—helping you understand everything from local transportation to setting up your new life.
The Sakura Difference: Education with a Soul
At Sakura, our curriculum goes far beyond memorizing kanji and grammar. We believe in a holistic approach that prepares the "whole student."
Interactive & Global Learning
We organize exclusive interactive programs where our students connect online with seniors currently living in Japan. These mentors share their real-life roadmaps to success, discussing the challenges, the hardships, and the ultimate rewards of life abroad. Additionally, we run online classes with native Japanese teachers, ensuring our students master natural conversation and advanced linguistic nuances that can't be found in a textbook.
AFamily Environment
We pride ourselves on creating a "home away from home." We understand that learning a new language can be stressful, so we foster a warm, family-like atmosphere. Our students feel comfortable speaking frankly about their problems. To build this bond, we organize regular tours, picnics, and visits to temples, alongside meaningful farewell programs. These activities aren't just for fun—they provide cultural context and build the confidence needed for international travel.
Our Philosophy: Success Through Truth
The 1 key to success in Japan is understanding the reality of the journey. We have seen too many students fail because they only focused on the "success" and neglected the hardships.
At Sakura, we do the opposite. We prepare our students mentally. We have deep, honest discussions about the challenges and obstacles you will face. We believe that once you understand the problem, you are halfway to the solution. By the time a Sakura student leaves Nepal, they are not just linguistically capable—they are mentally resilient, culturally aware, and fully supported by a team that cares for them in both countries.
